The mean reds.

Whoever read Truman Capote's brilliant Breakfast at Tiffany's (or saw the less stirring but nonetheless cute movie) will know exactly what I'm talking about when I say I had a nasty case of the mean reds today. I felt annoyed, fret-ish and fed-up with everything all day long, without really knowing why.

And while Holly Golightly finds her remedy at Tiffany's at times like these, I take satisfaction in a large piece of chocolate with hazelnuts and scrolling through pictures of our trip to Rome.

In the pictures below we were on our way to the restaurant where I ate the fluffiest and lightest tiramisù of all times. Ah-mmmmmm.

Matchy matchy manicure.

It is no secret that I am always up for some experimenting in the nail art department. From polka-dots to graphic shapes, I like to give it all a try - well the stuff that my two left hands allow me to do, that is. And so it was that today I decided to get me some camo-manicure. No, I'm not talking army print, I'm talking real chameleon style camouflage, I'm talking giving-my-fingernails-the-same-print-as-my-pants-chizzle. That's right!

What do you need to achieve the print extraordinnaire that my J.Crew pants are sporting? Two coats of Essie Lapiz of luxury and a thin brush to apply smudgy stripes of Hema Longlasting white and Essie Stylenomics.

White tees are forever.

When strolling through Rome, a city brimming with classical art and architecture, I dedided to build up my outfit around a true wardrobe classic: The White Tee. Even though I'm not the world's greatest advocate of dressing in basics, this one definitely has a spot close to my heart. I have about 5 of them in my closet and I wear and wash 'em non-stop. The one I'm wearing here, was the result of a visit to the new &Other Stories in Antwerp. I just couldn't resist its perfect cut.

Returned from Rome.

Bonsoir gals!

Yesterday evening we returned home from a short visit to my mother and her husband who live near Rome. It were three lovely days filled with: eating cinnamon rolls for breakfast (thanks to my mama), having a copulent birthday dinner, eating lots of gelato, drinking several glasses of the prosecco and enjoying the beautiful Roman architecture.

Fluorescent (Adolescent).

Me, adolescent? Not so much anymore (and thank God for that, because oh how I disgusted puberty). But fluorescent? Big time, baby! That is to say, I can appreciate a pop of fluo pink and orange in a casual get-up like this one. Oh, and if you're wondering what the 'adolescent' part is doing here, you obviously haven't heard of this super-duper song.
